La Fonda NYC invites you to experience more than just Puerto Rican food, it's a culinary journey that blends centuries-old island traditions onto a single plate.  For over three decades, this beloved corner of El Barrio has served as a home away from home for Puerto Rican cuisine lovers.  Today, under new ownership, we're proud to carry that legacy forward - honoring everything that came before us while bringing fresh energy, locally sourced ingredients, and a renewed passion to every dish we serve.

Puerto Rico itself has never stopped evolving, and neither have we.  Just as the island has weathered change while holding fast to its identity, La Fonda has grown through new names and new hands, always rooted in the same mission: whole Puerto Rican cooking made with heart.  We honor the classics inherited from Jorge Ayala, Ramon Salas,such as our signature Pernil, a lineup of Mofongos (Shrimp and Pernil being the fan favorites), Ensalada de Pulpo, Pollo Guisado, Bistec Encebollado, Chicharrón de Pollo, Flan, and Tembleque .  All while modernizing our menu with fresher, locally sourced ingredients and a lighter touch, without ever losing sight of our culture.

Every bite is built to transport you to a favorite memory, or a brand new one.  Our food has moved guests to tears, reminding them of their own family's kitchen.  Alongside the dishes you already love, discover new favorites like our imported Mallorcas & Pan Sobao (which we make a French Toast with), Vegan Cañoa (also available in beef).  Plus new additions on the way as we keep exploring what Puerto Rican cuisine can be.
